How WPM is Calculated
Words Per Minute (WPM) measures typing speed by counting the number of words typed in one minute. In My Typing Journey, we use the standard definition where one "word" equals five characters, including spaces and punctuation. This standardization ensures consistent measurement regardless of the actual word length.
Typing Test Rules
Errors will affect your final WPM score if left uncorrected. To fix mistakes, use the backspace key to delete and correct them.
The timer begins automatically when you start typing. If you pause for more than 3 seconds before typing, the timer will start anyway to ensure accurate measurement of your typing speed.
